In the year 1990, some of the progressive, thoughtful and enthusiastic people from the Vagad community gathered and established SHRI VAGAD VISHA OSWAL VIKAS SAMAJ in Mumbai for the community’s need of a marriage and community hall.

This trust focused on and achieved their vision of a 4-story, air conditioned community hall building including all desirable facilities with a capacity of 800 people per hall at Oshiwara, Jogeshwari, and Mumbai.

The community hall opened its doors on 8th May 2000.

Through these years, these four community halls were mainly used for wedding-related functions.The rent of this halls are kept at reasonable rates compared to privately owned halls.

Under this trust, on 28th October 2018, trustees started a luxurious 24 room sanatorium at Deolali in Nasik without taking any funds from the community.

It was named as ASTAPAD, inaugurated by Shri Champshi bhai Devshi Nandu and Prakash Mehta a social worker and politician from Ghatkopar, Mumbai.

Sanatorium was the result of the hard work of Mr Amratlal Keshavji Chadwa who contributed his time and expertise in setting up all the facilities. In Astapad sanatorium, we have 24 flats of different combination spread across 3 floors, with 2 elevators and ample parking space. The layout of the flats are as follows: 

4 flats of 2 BHKs, 2 flats of 1.5 BHKs, and 18 flats of 1 BHKs in an individual building of 3 floors.

All the flats are equipped with air conditioners, fully furnished kitchen, TV, inverters, 24 hrs water supply with fully furnished bedrooms. Aside from housing, there are recreational areas such as well-lit lobby with seating, indoor game room, library, conference hall with wifi and more. 

The management staff is polite, courteous, helpful and dedicated.

Vision of this trust is to serve the Vagad community whole heartedly with community halls and sanatoriums at different locations near Mumbai.
